I have a simple truth to share today: don’t wait to pursue life for when you’re ready because you’re never be “ready.” Feeling “ready” is not a common feeling, so instead of waiting for life to happen to you by being “ready,” go take action and stop over-thinking. It’s simple, but that’s what is so gorgeous about simple truths, their simplicity shines in any circumstance.
Whatever you are facing today (or tomorrow), know that you will never feel 100% ready, and that’s okay. Tomorrow I will be running the streets of Philadelphia for a half-marathon, and while I have been training very hard to hit a certain pace and I know I am ready to rock it, I still have that slight fear of not being ready in my mind. In anything, if you want until you’re ready, you’ll be waiting for the rest of your live…so stop waiting and go do something.
I am excited to line up at the race tomorrow morning with my closest 27,000 running friends with the invigorating uncertainty of not really knowing what is going to happen. The uncertainty of never feeling really “ready” is exactly what makes life so exciting and it is what will enable me to take pleasure in letting my body just feel its’ own way through 13.1 miles.
Make something happen today, whether or not you are “ready.”
