You are a prophet. I don’t mean to be trite by making an overstatement, but really, you are a prophet. The thoughts you think are what you become. You might not yet realize the power of your thoughts, but there is power there nonetheless, whether you acknowledge it or not. Revelation happens in ones’ heart when you finally learn to harness your thoughts with the knowledge that they are prophesies for your life.
In light of prophesies, I’ve been thinking recently about the power of a name, as my name is about to change. Currently, I am known legally at Trisha Christine Blackwell, and very soon I will become Trish Blackwell Synan. Thinking about names is powerful. A name is a documented, spoken destiny attached to you. Trisha means The Noble One, and ever since I learned that as a child I have held tightly to it. I have tried to live up to the ideals of honesty and integrity that are wrapped up into the word “noble.”
What is it that you call yourself? The words that you speak give life within you, so do you speak words of life or words of death? Things as basic as our very own names, and especially the names that we give ourselves in our own head, have an impact upon the outcome of our lives. Give yourself names of confidence, potential and hope, and you will find an internal sense of empowerment that perhaps you never knew you already had.
