I have always believed in hard work: it seems to be a essential characteristic in Blackwell blood. I believe in wishing too. Though the two may not seem to go hand-in-hand, I believe that they do. In fact, I think that those who are successful and truly happy have learned that the two are really inseparable.
The only way to really wish for something is to know one’s self well enough to know what is worth wishing for. It takes work to know yourself well enough to wish, so work hard in your own self-awareness so that you can wish well. I echo what Ella Wheeler Wilcox once said: “Always continue the climb. It is possible for you to do whatever you choose, if you first get to know who you are and are willing to work with a power that is greater than ourselves to do it.”
You always get what you work for, so work hard. Work to know yourself, work to follow your passion, work in your relationships to actively love people more, and work to mold your mindset into one of gratitude. As you work on these things, I promise, your wishes will come true.
