This is a thought that was delivered to me on Sunday at church and it provoked me to pass it on to you. What do people get when they get you?
Are you consistent? Are you congruent? Are you authentic? Do you see the world with problems or do you see it with solutions? Are you a influencer or are you influenced by your environment? Do you keep your word to others? Do you keep your word with yourself? Do you do what you say you are going to do? Are you willing to dare to dream? Are you the same person on Friday as you are on a Monday? Are you brave enough to let yourself be vulnerable and to let others really get to know you? Do you have the courage to just be you? Are you daring enough to let go of the crutch of perfectionism and to allow yourself the grace to course correct?
One of the most frustrating conversations that I have on a consistent basis is the statement from someone that they want something better for their life, that they want to follow their dreams, that they want to break free of an addiction or a toxic environment and then it is followed with a soliloquy of “buts”. You either want to change or you don’t. There are no justifications, no excuses and no circumstances that hold us back like we all so often say they do. The only thing holding us back is us. Do not miss the depth of this truth in the simplicity of the statement. The only thing holding us back is us.
Be someone who has follow-through. Big talk and eloquent excuses will forever keep you on the sidelines of life. You are in this mastermind group for a reason. You believe in saturating your in-box and your mind with ideas, challenges and thoughts to rock the status quo and to accelerate your thinking. Embrace the commitment that you have already taken by being part of this group. Be someone who follows through; be someone who lights up the world you live in.
So, what do people say when they get you?
Be extraordinary this week by being the best YOU possible.
PS: Our group open coaching call is coming up in a week so mark your calendars! July 15th at 8:00pm EST, be there or be square! 🙂
