I have always loved rules, especially when they are simple and concise. My favorite self-imposed life rules of my childhood include never letting the boys beat me at swim practice, always saving the best thing on my plate at dinner for last, and a purposed mission to always try keep up with my big brother in whatever he was doing.
I have since expanded my “life rules” to a more inclusively mature summary of three simple rules. They are rules for living passionately, and rules that allow me to embrace my inevitable moments of set-backs, frustrations and rejections. Whether we know it or not, each and every day our passion for life either grows or dissipates, and these rules enable me to avoid a life of stagnant complacency, for every day is an opportunity to become something greater than we have ever been before.
It takes courage to dream, courage to follow these “simple” rules, and courage to ask for what you want in life. Follow these three simple rules to life and see where they take you; I guarantee that they will take you to a place that you will never regret. Figure out what it is that you want. Once you know what you want, you have the key to success in your fingertips. Your key will unlock doors and adventures that you don’t even yet know exist. Know yourself. Know what you want. Know that in knowing yourself and knowing what you want, you will make a great difference in this world.
