SHOW NOTES!
Today we are going to target specific thought patterns that you need to put on a diet so that they stop limiting what you are able to do with your body and with your life.
Tips:
(1). Catch your thought mid-thought and rewrite it in your mind.
(2). Know that negative, condemning voices are fear based; they are the voices that lie to us and keep us in captivity in life, permitting us only half-lived lives.
(3). The thought diet takes discipline and intention (Covey reference)
(4). Surround yourself in the environment that you want to become.
(5). Give thanks every day (gratitude journal for your body) at the beginning of each day. 10 minutes in the morning will set you up for success the rest of the day.
(6). Know your weaknesses and prepare for them.
(7). Create a community and environment in which you and those you love thrive. Refuse to allow others to engage in self-deprecation, negative self-talk or comparison. Catch yourself and others when playing the comparing game because nothing good ever comes out of it.
FITNESS
One of these habits was –‘The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.’ Stephen Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Covey proposed that happiness in life depends not only in having a focus or goal (i.e. the main thing) but in having the discipline to stay focused on that goal (i.e. keeping the main thing the main thing). He contended that one reason why people fail to achieve their full potential was in not staying focused on that goal.
Lie #1: I’ll never be able to do [that, workout consistently, handstands, etc]….
Lie #2: My body will never be perfect, no matter how hard I try.
Lie #3: I hate my [blank], I wish I could change it and I will finally be happy when I do.
NUTRITION
Lie #1: I will never have a positive and balanced relationship with food because….
Lie #2: I have yo-yo dieted my whole life, I can’t expect it to change or be any different this time because it has never been before.
Lie #3: I have no control over food
YOU
Lie #1: I don’t really have any goals that matter
Lie #2: I don’t really have any talents that matter
Lie #3: When I let my heart lead my life I look stupid and vulnerable and am probably not even really qualified to be doing what I am doing
