Oftentimes I wonder what it is that makes certain people magnetic. You know who these people are: they attract and draw in practically all who surround them. They are the people who light up an entire room, without even saying a word when they walk in. These people have auras so powerful that it’s hard to have a bad day when you’re near them and they inevitably brighten up your day without even trying. These are the people that the world needs more of.
While driving and listening to a Dr. John C. Maxwell lecture on leadership yesterday, I had an epiphany. These magnetic personalities and leaders in my life weren’t simply blessed with a good nature and a good personality, they have chosen that good nature. Attitude is the paintbrush of the mind; whatever we paint we will show and display. Maxwell nailed another interesting point in his lecture: all’s well that BEGINS well. Rather than adhering to the traditional adage of all’s well that ends well, Maxwell has recognized that great leaders (and great personalities) know that everything in life begins with attitude.
You hold the paintbrush to your mind. Choose your colors wisely, make them colorful, and make them you. As you paint your mind with the colors of all’s well that BEGINS well, you will find that more of life will start ending well for you based on what you have painted.
