SENTENCES THAT SENTENCE

By TrishBlackwell on October 5, 2010 in Blog, Movement

The sentences you speak sentence your life.

During my long 17 mile run this Sunday through the campus of UVA and endless hills of Charlottesville, I thought a lot about this statement.  No matter what you do, the outcome is ultimately decided by the thoughts you think.  So, think yourself positive.  Whether you are struggling to conquer a long training run, fighting the urge to indulge in a brownie, or persevering through some family difficulties, the sentences you think in these moments when your mind is alone are the sentences that will determine the outcome of what and who you really are.

Choose your sentence (life) ingredients and mix them to create true happiness!

I took this picture in Covent Gardens, London a few weeks ago, and when I think about choosing my thoughts wisely, I like think about it in terms of the way I would carefully choose food.   Selecting food in a market and piecing together a fantastic, wholesome meal is no different that carefully choosing the thoughts you put together as recipes in the sentences in your mind.   So, mull over your ingredients and select only the best.
