I preach action, but fail to follow through myself sometimes. For a week now, ants have taken over my kitchen counters. Hundreds of tiny ants, busy as bees on a mission for their clan to profit from me. Three times now I have reassured my roommates over the past few days not to worry, that I was going to pick up ant traps that day. Three times now I have not taken action.
As I packed my lunch and dinner for work this morning, I noticed even more ants. A new gnarly looking spider-ant has joined forces against the attack in my kitchen, so gnarly looking that it made my skin crawl. Even thinking about them now makes me itch. I have no choice but to take action now, now that my vision without action has turned into a kitchen nightmare. So is life sometimes. Sometimes it takes things to get really bad in order for us to make the change that we need to.
We all have things in our daily lives that we put off for no good reason aside from laziness; we also have our own internal, personal changes that we put off out of fear. Do not let laziness or fear dominate your life. You are too strong for that. Whatever it is that you have been putting off doing, do it. It’s time for action. Take action, otherwise, before you know it, you might find yourself with a kitchen full of hard working spider-ants to remind you that the world around you doesn’t stop just because you did.
To the ants in my kitchen: enjoy your last day of freedom.
