Having a puppy is like having a life coach whisper something meaningful and profound into your subconsciousness every few hours of the day. Without fail, Finnegan, my six-month-old Irish Terrier, reminds me of something important that I always try to remember yet consistently arrive at forgetting: that is, the power of curiosity.
For Finnegan, the world is a wonder. A moth can captivate his attention for minutes on end and the leaves falling off the trees around him as he walks can make him turn with joy in circles. He trails my every move in the house like a little shadow and wants to curiously sniff, watch and investigate everything that comes across his path.
We, like Finnegan, are surrounded by opportunity to engage our curiosity. As Henry David Thoreau wrote, “it’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” In order to see as Thoreau suggests that we see, we must engage our curiosity and allow ourselves to look at the world through a deeper, more inquisitive lens.
How we see the world, and what we see through that which might otherwise be commonplace has the ability to transform our experience of the world. This week in the Confidence on the Go broadcast we explored the concept of resourcefulness (that is, seeing life around you with engaged curiosity) as one of the greatest abilities we can strive to hone in our lives. If you haven’t heard this week’s show, you can listen to it at: www.trishblackwell.com/83/. Also, if you missed the YouTube video that digs into the five specific ways to increase your resourcefulness immediately, then you can catch that 6-minute video at: http://youtu.be/lRH_LAoZZe8.
I am excited to have a new resource for you this week to help you increase your personal resourcefulness and the way in which you see yourself and your ability to make a difference in this world.
On Tuesday, November 25th I’m offering a FREE hour-long webinar called Role Model. You can grab a spot at 8am EST, 2pm EST or 8pm EST by signing up at: http://www.trishblackwell.com/event-registration-2/. In Role Model I’ll be unveiling the Confidence Hierarchy of Needs, how to solidify confidence in your own body and self-image and then how to take that example to inspire others – your children, your friends, your family and your co-workers.
Take your curiosity to a new level in your life: engage it so that you can inspire others to do the same. The Role Model webinar will show you exactly how to do just that.
Sign up today and mark your calendar for November 25th!
Confidently yours,
Trish
