Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal. – Pamela Vaull Starr
Scars tell stories. Stories change lives. Lives with stories are lives that are well lived, so be thankful for the scars that have formed and marked you. Maybe your scars are visible, or maybe they are below the surface, but wherever they are, be proud of them, for they speak depth to your story.
Let me be clear: scars do not define us, they refine us. My dark years of self hatred, body insecurity, and eating disorders have refined my entire life journey. The scars of those memories are what make my heart shine as a personal trainer, life coach, body image writer, and triathlete. Without my scars I would have probably never even gotten involved in the fitness industry, let alone recognizing it to be my life calling.
Turn your scars into stars. Let the various painful elements of your past refine the beauty of your story of today, and let that beauty shine. Perhaps you already have done this and just don’t realize it, or perhaps you are hiding your scars in shame or anger, but whatever your case may be, stop thinking so much and just shine.
