Sometimes life feels like it is spinning out of control, like everything you do gets undone, and like no matter what you do, you’ll never catch up to where you want to be. Right? How do I know this feeling so intimately, you might ask? Well, I have a two-year-old, and I spend hours every week doing the same thing over and over again, sweeping the floors for the hundredth time and still finding myself surrounded by scattered toys throughout the house. Life in general used to feel this way too, before I started taking the training of my thoughts seriously and before I realized that, though I can’t always control the tornado left by my toddler, I can control the type of lifestyle I live.
You can too.
You can choose to step off the hamster wheel of stress and overwhelm. You can choose to stop feeling so frazzled and time scarce. You have all the tools you need – you just need to use them, and to believe that life really can be different.
Is life filled with challenges? Yes. Can it be tough and trying sometime? Yes. Will we have seasons of life where our patience and our positivity are put to the test? Yes. But, with all that being true, what is also true is that life is also incredibly joyful and beautiful.
Take a good look at your quality of life today and this week and make a power move for what you want. If you want a life of stress and overwhelm, well, then keep on doing what you are doing. If you want something different, something more peaceful and more fulfilling, then perhaps it’s time to try something different. To change something you have to change something, right? Today, what you can change is your pace. Slow down. Say no. Soak up some fresh air. Spend time in your gratitude journal. Sip your coffee slowly and allow the taste to linger on your tongue. I truly believe simply doing this will cut your stress in half, if not dissipate completely. There’s something magical that happens when we slow down enough to notice our gratitude, and gratitude is the soothing balm of the soul that brings exchanges our stress for peace and satisfaction.
You matter and what you do with your life matters; in order to tap deep into life itself we must slow down and be present in the day and in the moment we are living right now. If you are ready to take this concept and to really connect fully to yourself and to your place in world – and if you’re ready to say “bye-bye” to the mindset of stress and overwhelm you have conditioned for yourself, then your next step is to come join us in The College of Confidence.
