We don’t have control over a lot of things in life, but we do have control over what matters the most: how we think about and how we see the world. Life is bound to throw you curveballs and unexpected trails and challenges. These things do not have to get you down or tear you apart – in fact, they can do just the opposite. They can strengthen and build you in a way that you could have never been empowered otherwise, that is, if you choose to approach life with a positively engaged mind. To cleanse your thinking and fill yourself with powerful thoughts, take on this negativity challenge. It will change the way you think and the way you move triumphantly through life’s challenges.

THE CHALLENGE:
It’s simple:
(1). Spend a week noticing where negativity sneaks in most into your mindset. Pick one category – it could be:
Worry
Jealousy
Cynicism
Fear
Overthinking
Procrastination
Comparison
Guilt
Resentment
Disappointment
Toxic relationships
Unhealthy habits
Self-limiting thoughts
Small thinking
(2). Now, dial in on that one negativity “symptom” and pay attention to it for a full week.
It is impossible to move to where you want to go if you first don’t know exactly from where you are starting. Paying attention to how you think is a key component to training your thoughts to be more powerful and positive.
(3). Finally, when that negativity symptom creeps into your thinking, stop what you are doing and speak something positive (and contrary to your negative thought) out loud immediately.
While we can think multiple things at one time, we can only speak one thing at a time; and, when we speak, we can only think one thing at a time. By speaking truth and something positive out loud, you are proactively forcing the negative symptom to move on.
When you change the way you think, you change the way you live. The way you live determines the impact you will have on this world and the quality of life in which you will lead it. Take ownership of your thoughts and you will take ownership of your dreams.
It doesn’t matter how many days or years you have battled negative thoughts – and it doesn’t matter if you aren’t necessarily a “negative” person – everyone battles negative thoughts on a daily basis and each and every one of us has the power within us to stop the thoughts.
