Monday mornings are perfect moments for reflection. I always do a lot of thinking on my drive to work on a Monday; these mornings are my happiness assessment gauge. Memories from the weekend mixes with excitement of coming workplace productivity, creating optimal balance. My weekend of boating, biking, wine tasting and running got my gauge topped off, but it’s my drive to work that reminds me that I am living the dream and really following my heart, for I look forward to work as much as I look forward to my weekends.
How is your gauge reading today? Are you happy? If you’re not, do you want to be happy, and if you do, what are you going to do to change? If your gauge is reading something like mine today — at a happiness high — then you are doing something right. Most importantly, don’t take this happiness high for granted; express your gratitude. Allow your happiness to be an energy of gratitude that envelopes others around you so that you can help steer others towards finding direction in their own gauge.
It is when we follow the passions of our heart, no matter how crazy or outlandish they might be, that our gauge locks itself into a place of happiness. Get your gauge right.
