Nothing beats wiggling your toes in the sand. Celebrating with fruity drink in hand after a great half marathon only adds to the beauty of the moment. I call this beach therapy.
Getting to escape sea-side for a weekend reminds me of one of life’s great truths: that the cure to everything can be found in salt. Be it through sweat, tears or the sea, salt is what is able to help us finally just be.
If you’re not lucky enough to be beach-side this weekend, find a place where you can find replenishment. Surround yourself with natural beauty and turn your mind off from all of the over-thinking that it does during the week. Allow yourself to just be, without responsibilty, without stress, and without self-judgement.
Find a way to “get-away” mentally from the hustle of your busy lifestyle today, and slow down! Even though I may have picked one of the busiest, bustling beaches in the world to slow down in, I find myself feeling even more still because of the commotion that surrounds me. We can all achieve this peaceful beach therapy, no matter where we are. It is in the stillness of life that we begin to feel the most alive.
