JABS AND STABS

By TrishBlackwell on October 8, 2010 in Blog, Meaning

Sometimes, it’s just one of those weeks.  You know, the kind of week where nothing in particular is wrong, but where you find yourself being constantly and exhaustively criticized.  These jabs can be directed at your personality, at your job performance, at your clothes or at some of your quirks.  Everyone has experienced these types of jabs, and even though they often might be over something petty, they do sting the soul and stab deep.

You must remember that personality is a gift; do not ever let anyone question or try to change yours, for in doing so, they are stabbing at the very depth of what makes you YOU.

Too often, the French get a bad rap about their aloofness, their abrupt attitudes and their elitist egos.  I, on the other hand, commend them for these attitudes. The French have a lot about life figured out, and I am convinced that the basis of this enviable understanding is grounded in the self-acceptance that they so masterfully achieve.  They truly are undeniably and unapologetically themselves, and it drives foreigners crazy.

You can be “French” too;  all you have to do is really open the gift that lies in your unique  personality and share that gift with others without hesitation.  The next time that you find yourself in a day filled with jabs and stabs, think back to the present of YOU and don’t take anything too personally.
