I peed my pants in public last week. And, not just a little; a lot. Lucky for me, I chose to wear tight black capris and the water marks barely showed, but when investigated closely, there existed a large pee mark from my pelvis practically to my knees. I didn’t care though, I just kept on keeping on. Sometimes, pee is funny and sometimes it’s healthy not to take yourself so seriously.
And you know what? I’m proud of it.
I peed because I was having fun. With a group of my fellow trainers, we bounced for an hour on fifty connected giant trampolines at a jumping center in Richmond called Jumpology. I would like to say that I relived my childhood, but I didn’t, because I didn’t get to jump on trampolines often as a kid. Instead, I am just living my adulthood.
Sometimes being an adult can be a lot more fun that we give it credit. We need to let go of the facade and let ourselves just be, well, ourselves. Being yourself can be one of the absolutely most empowering things that you will ever give yourself permission to be. The freedom to be who we really are is what propels dreams into realities, what fuels major change and what puts the pen of legacy into our fingers.
