In honor of the University of Richmond’s Love Your Body Week, where I will be presenting tomorrow, I have a simple challenge today: love your body. There are not enough people in the world who have the peace and self-acceptance to state that they love their bodies, but we all need to, so let us start a revolution of change. The change with you and me.
I love my body. I haven’t always, in fact, I have wasted too many years of my life hating it. And while I still find “flaws” in myself, there is nothing more empowering and freeing than proclaiming with confidence that “I LOVE MY BODY.” Let go of the nit-picking and self-criticisms and give yourself permission to love yourself as is, for you are perfect as your are today. Refuse to engage in conversations with friends, family or co-workers that are centered around body-criticism and choose to love your body for it is the most amazing instrument you will ever be given.
Join me in proclamation today. Say it out-loud and let someone else hear it….we need to start changing the way we all talk about our bodies, so let the change start with you!
I love my body. Do you?
