We are more often defined by the labels that pervade our own minds than the labels given to us by those around us. Labels exist everywhere, however superficial and inappropriate they may be. Labels do not have to define us if we don’t want them to; a life free of labeled restriction is a life full of possibilities.
Thomas Jefferson believed that identities, or labels, are formed by action, not words. He challenges us still today in asking: “Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you.” Take action today. If you don’t like the way you or others label you, it’s up to you to implement change and to reestablish your impact in this world.
Erase the limiting labels of your past that still echo in your mind and start living in action in everything you do. Most importantly, never forget that your human potential is limitless if your life is defined by ACTION. It’s time to stop talking about what you want to do with your life, body, health, family, finances, and profession and start doing.
My personal label maker for the day reads ACTION and DREAMER; what does yours read?
