I will not play tug o’ war. I’d rather play hug o’ war.Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins. -Shel Silverstein
I believe in hugs, I always have and always will. I like bear hugs, side hugs, snuggle hugs and bump hugs, but my favorite hug of all is the wiggle hug, only to be used when you are truly excited and happy to see someone. (I owe a thanks to a Davidson teammate for introducing me to the healing powers of a wiggle hug, which is simply an embrace with an abundance of ridiculously wiggling to the extent that both parties are forced into laughter.)
I love Silverstein’s proclamation a hug ‘o war, and I am in. Hugs keep us alive in so many ways, mentally, physically, and emotionally; so, my friends, all that I have to say today is this: hug on, let the hug ‘o war begin.
