They say that hindsight is 20/20, and so too is choosing the right perspective. Everything in life has two stories, it’s up to us to decide how we want to see things ourselves. This weekend as my girlfriends and I were discussing heels for their bridesmaid dresses, a few girls thought they were too high, a few thought they were short. Approximately three inches high, the actual height the heel was varied in the mind of each one of us, similar to the expected varied perspective that we all experience in our perceptions of anything or any situation.
We were all given different opinions and perspectives for a reason: it adds flavor and vivacity to life. The heel debate continued until we measured the actual heels against my Venti Starbucks cup, and all agreed that the heel was Venti height. Somehow Starbucks always brings us together.
Before you jump to conclusions about life, about others’ opinions, or about any of your present struggles, try to flip your perspective. Realize that everything is relative and everything can be seen from a different perspective. In allowing our minds freedom to have flexible thinking we are giving ourselves much more freedom to our own living.
