There are a lot of people who come into the gym and lie to me. They tell me that they want to change their lives, that they are ready to respect their body, that they are ready to break destructive addictions with food, and that they will do anything to feel alive and well in their skin again. And then, after a few weeks of being consistent to their nutrition and fitness, they stop coming. When the going got tough, they gave up.
How much do you care about yourself and your 2012 resolution? Perhaps your resolution isn’t able losing weight, maybe it is about eating enough food to properly fuel all of your workouts. Maybe for you your commitment to yourself is about stressing less and sleeping more, or maybe it is as simple as being kinder to yourself. My question for you today is have you stayed committed or have you allowed excuses to become potholes slowing you down on your path to success?
Where will you stand with yourself one year from now? Will you be proud of your perseverance and growth or will you make excuses like the other 90% of your peers? You are better than average. Be better than good enough. Be in the 10% this year that make 2012 the best year of their lives.
