Whatever your goal, this weekend just make it happen. I want us to get serious about our May goals, whatever they might be and there is no better time to take action than now. This is a huge action weekend for me — Brandon is gone for a four day bachelor party — giving me tons of focus time.
No longer are you allowed to say “next time,” or “I should…” because no longer will you make excuses or justifications. There is a difference between thinking about something and really doing it, and we are action takers, so just do it!
Reflection Challenge of the Weekend:
What is something that you have been putting off? Perhaps it stands between you and your goal, perhaps it’s something that you are scared to actually officially commit to…whatever it is, just do it. Have a half-marathon goal for 2013 or 2014? SIGN-UP for the race this weekend. Commit yourself. Burn your ships and make success your only option. Buy those new running shoes and stop making excuses. Are you dreaming of your own business or website but haven’t yet bought the domain? Go to GoDaddy and click purchase. Do you have a lifetime goal of writing a book but are afraid to tell anyone or even get started? Just start typing. Or even stare at an empty Word document, it doesn’t really matter how far you get, it matters that you start. Tell someone (even if it’s only me) what you have started so that there is no turning back.
The difference between those who make an impact in life and those who don’t can be attributed to having just 30 seconds of courage. You have 30 seconds of courage within you, that I know. So take that 30 seconds and START whatever it is that you have been putting off. Starting is always the hardest part of the entire journey. Take that first step this weekend. You have greatness within you that needs the opportunity to shine. Let it shine.
Workout Challenge of the Weekend:
I want you to do a workout that you have been putting off. We get better about taking action by practicing action (and resisting procrastination) in all areas of our lives. So, if you have been meaning to take a cycle class or that yoga class, stop meaning to do it and actually do it. If you have been thinking about seeing how far you can run without stopping, do it! Finally, if your workouts have been spot on but you haven’t been eating clean, stop the excuses and use the weekend to clean our your cupboards and do a big clean-eating shop-up at your local grocery store. Use Sunday night to make all of your food for the week so that you have no excuses to not be prepared!
Ok, off to TAKE ACTION myself and record podcast episode #3!
