I love it when the 4th of July falls in the middle of the week. Instead of one giant Saturday of fireworks, the fireworks and celebrations seem to extend from one weekend to a weekday, and then to the weekend that follows. I don’t think we can ever over celebrate the value of freedom.
We live in a country that is free, and that fought hard to be so, and so too much you fight hard to be free in your own skin. Fight, fight hard and fight on. Freedom is always worth fighting for, always. In our book of the month this month, Jon Acuff talks about the negativity that kills and imprisons us. He writes, “doubt and fear are like muscles. Every time you belief a lie about yourself, it gets easier to believe it the next time.”
You must, and I mean, absolutely must fight to break the lies. Stop working your fear muscle and start living in the training of faith, confidence and freedom.
Your weekend challenges are as follows:
(1). REFLECTION:
For each firework blast that goes off (whether you are watching a show or simply seeing some as you drive on a highway), celebrate something in your life that makes you feel FREE.
(2). ACTION:
Give yourself permission to be FREE to fail. Remember, failure is just a cul-de-sac, not a destination. Undo the shackles of uncertainty and the fear of being uncomfortable that holds you back and just STEP FORWARD. The battle for freedom of any type starts with one step, one decision, one movement forward.
Live FREE in freedom…in your body…in your relationship with food…in your dreams and purpose…in your relationships with others…in your perspective of the world…in forgiveness…in everything.
