I hope that you slowed down this week. Even if it was just in one small thing, I hope that you did it. It’s easy to get these emails to your inbox and simply read over them. It’s a whole different kind of living to take action on them, and the same goes for me. Even though I’m writing them, I have a choice every week to take seriously the reflections and challenges or not. I’m mentioning this to you today only because we all need to be reminded from time to time of just how important the little things in life are.
You flipped the switch on your autopilot this week. Be proud of that. Life isn’t real living unless it is lived intentionally; keep that autopilot turned off and do something daily to make sure that you keep your mind and heart actively engaged in the game of life.
Reflection of the Weekend:
(1). What habits do you most need to change?
(2). What attitude do you need to change and why have you allowed it to continue on autopilot? (ie. Have you made excuses for an attitude of complaining or the habit of gossiping simply because it’s “just how you are”? or perhaps have you resigned to being quiet and withdrawn because you’ve “always been introverted”? I say hogwash! The world needs you and it needs the BEST you possible. Shake those auto-ingrained mindsets and flip the switch!)
(3). What is the ONE thing this weekend that you can do to move your dream forward? (Email me the answer to this please!)
Challenge of the Weekend:
It’s a sleep challenge!
Sleep is one thing that we rob ourselves of, despite the fact that it is perhaps one of the most influential components of our lives. Without enough sleep we are irritable, our thoughts clouded and our enthusiasm waned. Equipped with sleep, we are unstoppable.
There’s never a good excuse for not getting consistent sleep. Sure, we will have nights where we get less than others, but as a whole, are you getting 7-9 hours on average?
Your challenge is simple: go to bed on time. Calculate your sleep needs backwards and then go to bed an hour earlier than that to allow for reading, writing or whatever it is that you need to do to help you fall asleep. Your body will thank you, believe me.
Never underestimate the power of great sleep habits. I truly believe that sleep can supercharge your success, your personality and your impact. Make the changes that you need to make: no more excuses.
