Live sporting events are like nothing else: they invigorate the most basic human desire for competition and camaraderie, which is why I am particularly excited to be at FedEx Field watching the Redskins play in the rain today.
My brother can be the first to attest that I’m not the type of fan that will follow every play, or even know all of the players’ names, but I do know how to deck out in ‘Skins gear, high-five my fellow fans, and cheer to my heart’s delight with my 90,000 co-spectators.
Although I do claim be burgundy-gold clad, I am not fully so. Proudly sporting my pink rain boots, I am able to add myself to my Redskins experience. It is a gentle reminder to always be a little bit different than everyone around you. Go against the flow and be unapologetic for what you love (to do, to wear, to be, etc)….you’ll be splashing new colors of life around you that wouldn’t have otherwise been there.
GO ‘SKINS!
