Today I have a simple question for you. It’s so simple that I’m starting off the blog post with it, which usually isn’t my style. So, here it is: What role in your life does Facebook play?
There are many answers to this question, just be honest with yours to yourself. Please don’t get me wrong, I like Facebook. It’s essential to my ability to stay in touch with old friends and it’s a way for me to connect with my community of app users and podcast listeners. However, there is a balance that must be achieved in one’s relationship with Facebook. Yes, I said relationship with Facebook; we all have one .
Many of us spend more time on Facebook per day than we spend on investing in ourselves or in really connecting with others, and that is not only a shame, it is absolutely tragic. Do not throw away your potential and your future for an easy distraction and filler. Yes, Facebook is a great societal connector. But if it is something that is integral to every aspect of your day, that is another story. Ask yourself today if you are living life to the fullest or are you just watching other’s lives instead?
Stop looking at life from the outside in and start living it from the inside out. Maybe this means changing how you use Facebook (accessing my blog via Facebook is NOT a valid excuse, you can always access it via the direct URL of http://www.beautifulbodybistro.com), or perhaps it means that you need to stop thinking about taking action and actually take action in your life.
Take ownership of where you are. Accept wherever you have gotten yourself today and make a decision to what you are going to do to make your life the life that you were meant to live.
