FACE VALUE.

By TrishBlackwell on March 2, 2012 in Blog, Meaning, Movement

A smile increases your face value. -Unknown

It’s easy to forget the value of a smile until you are placed in an unknown situation and are given the gift of a smile from someone else.  I am working with a local office of internal medicine to launch The Workplace Movement Challenge (more to come on this at a later date).  Yesterday I meet up with the office doctors, nurses and administrative employees to film them doing exercise together in the workplace.   Intimidated by the medical setting, I was totally out of place, but, thanks to a few generous smiles, doors of kindness opened right up to me and we ended up having a blast exercising and filming together.  To explain an authentic smile in words would cheapen its worth, as the value of a smile has reaches far beyond our own understandings.

It is said that a smile happens in a flash, but its memory can last a lifetime.  Also, a smile is nearly always inspired by another smile.   More than anything, smiles bridge the unknown and fear shared among strangers, and when you experience one in such a way, you will always remember it.

What is your current face value and what face value are you giving to the world?
