INSIDERS,
I want you to dream bigger than you ever have this week. You might have seen on my Facebook updates that Brandon and I did a Spartan Race in Wintergreen, Virginia yesterday. The race was a race for billy goats: eight miles up and down the black diamonds of a ski slope. What my Facebook posts didn’t tell you was that Brandon and I got a glimpse into a whole new world. Entertained for the weekend by a client of mine, the generosity and hospitality of this person and their family astounded us. Our weekend was spent hosted by them in what I would like to call a mini-castle of a mountain home that overlooked 17 mountain peaks. Once we finished our race, these friends of our took us to a local mountain brewery to celebrate and then to their family farm for an afternoon I will never forget.
This 21,000 sq. foot “hobby” farm is situated on 900 acres in Crozet, Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. After we saw the indoor lap pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, movie theatre, giant wine cellar, two fully-equipped gyms, putting green, and the tour of the house of which they couldn’t count the number of bedrooms, we took a ride on golf carts to explore the property further. That adventure took us through their sprawling foothills of carefully manicured gardens, ponds, and countless playhouses to see the free range chickens, pigs, cows, herb house, vegetable garden and about two dozen horses. I had the opportunity to play with three miniature horses and felt like I was ten again and I was in a world where anywhere I turned something magical seemed to happen.
This world is still available to us. The problem is that we sell ourselves and our dreams short. For me it takes being around something beyond my comprehension, someone else’s dream come true, to realize how limited I have allowed myself to be.
Think big. Dream big. There really is no limit unless you put on there. Your business can do more than you think it can. Your body can do and become more than you give it credit for. Your legacy and story really can make an impact on this world and on those around you.
Think bigger, bigger, bigger. Shoot for the stars because when you land at the moon you will be overwhelmed with wonder and awe.
Thinking big this week,
Trish
