I hear a lot of people say that they just want to be “happy,” implying that they are not quite yet there. By making happiness a destination instead of a state of being, it becomes an elusive, almost unattainable location that we over-complicate in our minds and our lives. It becomes more and more unreachable, the more we set down to perfect our lives so that we can finally “arrive”.
If you want to be happy, just be happy. That means however that if there are stresses in your life right now (weight, body image, financial hardship, relationship strife) that are “preventing” you from being happy, then you need to immediately let them go. The only real factor that is preventing you from happiness is yourself. Don’t allow trivial stresses have a stronghold over you and don’t allow yourself to believe that you don’t deserve to be happy today.
Simplify your life. Allow yourself to be happy today, whatever your circumstances might be, and you will find that your new way of travel in life will transform everything. Attitude matters, change yours now.
