It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. -e.e. cummings
Courage is a funny thing, often reserved to conversations about heroes, sacrifices, and fear-facing, but E.E. Cummings is right, courage belongs to all of us, if we choose to embrace it. It takes courage to be ourselves — to be different, to be perfectly imperfect, and to become who we really are. When I think back to those who have mentored me and who I have most admired, they are all the most courageous people I know. The most unifying characteristic that unites them all in my memory was their unapologetic commitment to being themselves. Each and every person I am thinking of changed my life and inspired my soul — they are the most beautiful people I know, as are most people who are true to themselves. Fight for your right to be yourself, and never stop fighting, for it is in your uniqueness that you are the most beautiful and the most influential to others.
