The Fitness Industry can be an intimidating world to navigate, especially to the millions on the outside who are desperate for a simple, quick fix to their health and fitness problems. As someone who wasted a decade of my life trying every diet, taking on every form of eating disorder, and waited with bated breath for a pill or a workout that would “fix” everything that I didn’t like about my body, I feel like the Fitness Industry, my industry, is still doing a great injustice to the millions of people we have involved in our gyms and businesses. Too often, we give people the solutions to their fitness problems without really giving them the proper tools to actually solidify the solutions. We are throwing band-aids on deep wounds. We make people sweat and tell them what to eat, but we don’t show them how to develop a sustainable relationship between their heart and their health. We are failing as an industry by the millions. Sure, we have success stories, and yes, we transform lives, but we are missing the mark. We are influencing millions when we need to be inspiring billions.
This week I am doing something different with Beautiful Body Bistro; I am being bold in what I feel is missing from what is typically talked about when fitness is talked about. This week I am dedicating a day to each of the five fitness questions that I believe to be essential to enabling one to find an equilibrium in their health, wellness, body image, and confidence. Each day I will delve into one of the questions, hopefully providing some thought-provoking perspective for you, my reader. The questions are below, and I hope that you will boldly reflect upon them this week.
How is your relationship with food?
How is your relationship with your body?
How is your relationship with the mirror?
How is your relationship with fitness?
How is your relationship with the world around you?
