I was raised to know that my actions speak louder than my words, and in business, I have learned the value of body language, but never I have actually lumped the two ideas together. Everything about what we do with our bodies communicates something, and that something isn’t just to others, it is to ourselves as well. If we honor our bodies by living a lifestyle of health, then internally, we will feel honored as well, skyrocketing our confidence and self-worth. Likewise, the less care of ourselves that we take, the harder it is to love ourselves. The lousier we feel on the inside, the lousier we communicate to those on the outside.
We each have full control of the messages that our bodies give to us and to those around us. Invest in yourself physically and mentally (yes, working through your baggage of the past instead of burying it), and you will communicate confidence, hope, health and inspiration to others. Neglect the actions that it takes to live the life that you deeply desire, and in turn, life will crumble around you from the inside out. If you don’t like the language that your body is speaking to the world, then it’s up to you to change your message.
My body speaks loudly, and the following words are what it says to both me and the world around me: confidence, love, fun, drive, passion, discipline, joy, freedom, triumph, peace and hope.
What does your body speak? Do you speak in a consistent tongue, do you speak congruently to the world and yourself, and do you need to learn a new form of speaking or language?
