I’ve been thinking a lot about identity recently, specifically on how we are not who others say we are, but rather how we are who we know we are. It’s very easy to let the assumptions and labels of others box us up and limit us, and likewise, in doing so we find ourselves in the midst of the people pleasing game that never ends. In order to know yourself you have to explore yourself. Try things out. Discover what it is that you love to do. Find your passion and your purpose, whatever it is that makes your heart come alive, and then go after it.
Join me in not caring what others think. Obviously, this is much easier said than done, but that doesn’t justify not trying. We have to behave our way into right thinking, so behave like yourself. Just be you. Stop trying to be everything to everyone, or everything that others want you to be. Be yourself because when you do just that you can be all that you are meant to be: alive and unique.
