I met someone yesterday named Trish, and call me ego-centric, but I love people with my same name. For some reason I feel like we have a shared kinship. We both understand what life feels like when called the name “Trish.” We both respond to “Trish.” We both identify with “Trish.” The name “Trish” got me thinking about “T” words…hey, don’t judge, I already told you that I am shallow about my name, and furthermore, T words rock.
I have some questions for you this morning, and they are simple ones, but ones that demand an honest answer to if you want to continue personally accelerating.
What are you tolerating in your life that you need to cut out?
Are there toxic behaviors or relationships that you engage in, yet justify because you are too comfortable in being comfortable?
Do you believe that you can in fact thrive in where you are at or do you blame your circumstances for not taking action on life?
Are you committed to being tenacious about the battles that you face on a day-to-day basis?
Tenacity will drive your ability to thrive, but you must, and I mean absolutely must, stop tolerating toxic behaviors. Cut out the negative self-talk. Stop being mean to yourself. Decide today to never buy laxative pills again, to throw your scale away or to bring light to your dark and secretive binge eating sessions. Make today the day that you take action on your dreams instead of just thinking about them. Be the person who always does the right thing, especially when it’s the hard thing to do. Be the you that you are meant to be; give yourself permission to thrive.
Light always destroys the darkness. Let the light of belief change you. You can change. You canmake a difference in this world. You are beautiful as you are today. You are smart and successful. You have nothing to prove to anyone other than being who you are meant to be. Believe it and put on a spirit of tenacity each and every morning to fight the lies, to fight your old toxic patterns and resist cynicism.
