AFFIRMATIONS:

I have power over my focus – and I will focus on what is good, not what doesn’t feel good.

I am more than I am seeing right now: I will think bigger and I have permission to let this anxiety go.

I am not seeing myself correctly at the moment, and I forgive myself for this harshness as I release it.

I am committed to focusing on what really matters to me in life.

I am more beautiful / thinner / more wonderful than I think I am: I am enough, I am okay, I am loved, I am loveable, I do belong here.

Right now I choose kindness towards myself.

I am beautiful even though I don’t feel it right now – my feelings are not always accurate and they are not dictators, just indicators that I might be pulled into comparison.

There is something good for me here in this, and I will learn and grow from it.

I embrace the beauty that God designed me to have, it is wonderful.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there is beauty everywhere, especially here, with me.

My beauty is more than my looks – my inner beauty and joy when I am being myself magnifies my outer beauty more than any photo or mirror can capture.

POWER PHRASE PYRAMID:

No one is picking me apart: I release my self-judgement and I choose kindness.

I look better than I think I do.

I am kind to myself and kind language is my internal standard.

Unknown Speaker 2:37

I've titled it short and simple, feeling ugly, feeling ugly and feeling off. This is going to be a conversation that is just really honest, and we're going to talk about the self critical voice, the one that's probably holding you back, the one that's self judging, that's picking you apart, that's telling making you come off and feel more awkward than you are when you're in a group gathering, or you you think you look good, but you get a catch of yourself in a bad mirror and and you're in your head the rest of the night, even though you're like but I know I look good, but why can't I believe that I look good? And why am I being so vain and self centered? And then we get frustrated. Listen, the brain can play some games, but fundamentally, I have good news for you. You are not alone, and you don't have to stay stuck in this insecurity of having just an off day. Okay? So the good news here is that the brain, there's nothing wrong with how you think. We just need to think with a little bit more power. Your toddler brain is has taken over. And to be fair, we have a human negative bias. We have a negativity bias, meaning our brains, our amygdala, are wired to look for a problem. That is why it's so automatic to go and think and find the negative, because we're looking to protect ourselves. Historically speaking, in the past, we used to have to be more on guard for an intruder, for a predator, to be aware, and the brain is has always on the lookup, scanning for potential scenarios to warn you, to say, hey, it's going to be okay, or we need to prepare and be on edge. And so it's not a problem that you have negative thoughts. Where it becomes problematic is when we don't do anything about the negative thoughts. This is why I'm such an adamant just advocate. I will preach it until I stop like I can't even talk anymore about journaling. The power of journaling is a daily discipline that can take less than four minutes a day. If you don't believe me, check out my journal mastery bundle. I have that linked up. You can find it at Trish blackwell.com, forward slash, journal mastery bundle. But fundamentally, you can look at journaling like like brushing your brain. It is no different than a mental it's a mental hygiene habit where we are brushing.

Unknown Speaker 5:00

Out the negativity, and we're ushering in

Unknown Speaker 5:04

a clean mind, a mind that's focused A Positive Mind. We aren't a self judging of our oral hygiene, the fact that we need to brush and floss and our teeth on multiple times a day in order to have fresh breath or or good hygiene. It's no different for your brain. So journaling is one of the core components and elements that's going to help you learn to be less self critical, understand your thoughts and talk back to the self judging voice, but also to set the great groundwork and the base foundation for being a positive, powerful thinker. And so when our thoughts get distracted. When you get distracted and you just feel off, and then you struggle to enjoy something because you're so distracted by how disappointed you are and how you look or what's going on. It's less about your inability to be confident, and more about your skill set of learning how to change your thoughts. Because once we talk back through our thoughts, we get our confidence back. Now I'm doing this episode because we had a listener request come in, and they reached out on Instagram. They said, Hey, Trish, thank you for your work. Your podcast has changed my life. Could you please do an in depth conversation about beauty and how to not care so much about it being comfortable and showing up as your ugly self, and there's a laughy face right? Laughy face emoji. I was at an event, and I struggled enjoying it because I thought my outfit didn't look nice, and the whole night was ruined, and I just don't want that to be me. And y'all, I this message resonated so much because I've spent, I spent 10 years of my life being disappointed that I would get distracted with negative self thought, and I would let it ruin my night. In fact, some nights in college, I just wouldn't go out. I would not go out with friends. Weren't even just saying not like out to go like party, just not even out to go get like, frozen yogurt, because I was embarrassed of how I looked, or I thought I was putting so much effort into myself to only look average, and I just was constantly disappointed in myself. And the truth is, if you look back at those days where you thought you looked terrible, but if there was a picture taken, and you know when you want to take it, when you take a picture, or you get forced into a picture, but then you don't like how you look in the picture, usually give it a couple days and you're like, huh, it's interesting. I look a little bit better than I thought I did. And my point is is there are going to be times when the self critical mind is just mean, that your mind is just mean. And that could be as a result of not having journal that day, not not cleaning out the negativity bias and and setting yourself for a positivity bias. It could be the result of some hormone fluctuations or sleep deprivation or distraction and stress levels going on in your life. Look, let's not judge the reasons why it's there. We don't need to explain or psychoanalyze it. What we do is we need to acknowledge when it's happening. And what do I mean by that? By feeling ugly? It's your version of that. You might just feel awkward. Maybe you get distracted when you feel awkward, and that affects your confidence. Maybe you'll find yourself like I have in some seasons in my life, where there were uncertain people, whether it's because their hair was done a certain way or their style was really in a way that I admired and I felt intimidated by that I allowed myself to be inferior with I gave consent to be inferior. Remember, as Eleanor Roosevelt said, No one can make you feel inferior without your consent, and sometimes, because of that, I would be I would get into comparison mode and find myself lacking. And the minute I found myself lacking, I felt insufficient, I felt unworthy, I thought and thoughts, then would run wild. It's sort of like, like a negativity tornado, where you start proving yourself with all these points of why you're not enough. I'm not skinny enough, I'm not cool enough, I'm not I'm not funny enough, I'm not dynamic enough. I look I should have worn a different dress. How did I not see that this wasn't as flattering? I'm overdressed. I'm under dressed. My hair. I put a lot of effort in my hair, and then then it was human, and it fell flat, and I'm so embarrassed that everybody else looks good, but I don't, and oh my gosh, now I'm judging myself because I shouldn't care what I look, because I don't want to be so vain or so superficial. I'm here to celebrate this person or do this thing. It's about look, you can you can feel the whole internal dialog is overwhelming, and then the people you're with are like, Hey, you okay? You're like, yeah, yeah, it's fine, just a little distracted. And I just want you to know you're not alone.

Unknown Speaker 9:26

And when you when you feel off, let's just call it off. This is when you have to talk back to yourself as a friend. Now, in my own journey with this and feeling off or feeling not the way, not good enough, let's just call it. What is we? We get into our head that we're not we don't look good enough.

Unknown Speaker 9:45

Insert the reason why. I don't know. Maybe you just compared yourself. Maybe you got on the scale. Maybe you, for some reason, just feel like I don't know. Your skin complexion doesn't look right that day. That self critical voice is mean, it's an.

Unknown Speaker 10:00

Don't bully. And it used to keep me from wanting to show up in life, and once I got over it in life, it kept me from wanting to show up in business. And I got to tell you, one of the most healing things I did for this, this part of my confidence, was to show up anyway,

Unknown Speaker 10:16

easy, to grow my business in the in the type of coaching that I do. I am the face of my brand, and I had to get over my own judgments, to look myself in the mirror, to look and put pictures of myself online, to promote, get professional headshots done, to be on video. All of those things did not come easy or naturally to me. In fact, every single time, especially the first few years, not times, y'all, not times, not weeks, not months, years, I would always think. I just wish I was cooler. I wish I had my eyebrows look better. I wish that my hair sat different. And I just had to acknowledge that that was just part of the game for me, that my brain was going to throw a tantrum, and that I needed to show up anyway, and that I had trained it. I had to acknowledge the neural pathways that I had trained of self criticism were so so deeply rooted over two decades of just self talk that was negative, that of course, it would take me a while to show up on camera look at my own reflection, and I would hear negative voices, and I would just have to ignore them in the same way I can ignore my seven year old with love when He's whining. I can. I learned how to ignore the voices in my head that were saying, oh, like, you really shouldn't be on camera today. Look at That's it. Look at your makeup. It doesn't look good. People are gonna judge you. They're not gonna like you. Who do you think you are? All of that, once you stop listening to it, in the same way of any bully, the voices go down. They get quieter, you can show up. You're less bothered. So one of the best things to do is to show up. And I work with some of my entrepreneurial clients who we do a lot of work on building a brand, putting yourself out there, showing up, being visible. And one of the things that holds people back the most is, well, I want to be camera ready, or I don't look good enough yet, or I don't have the camera presence, or I feel awkward, or, guess what? Like, do it anyway.

Unknown Speaker 12:07

Do it any way. There have been times, especially since I've had a business as as I've been a mom, right? I've had young kids, and there were certain windows I needed to record a course, and I felt not cute enough to be on video. I felt like a little bloated, or I felt a little like hormonal, and I didn't like how I looked that day, but I didn't give myself a choice, because the people that I'm coaching, the people who are I'm that I'm helping you don't look I'm gonna go on a limb here so you really don't care what it look like. You care that I get you. You care that I can give you tools that help you, you get you care about what I can do to serve and support you, not if my hair looks good that day, not if my hair is straightened or if it's curled or if it's crimped, or if my eyelashes look freshly done, or maybe they are falling out. You don't care, but we know that, and it's lot easier said than done when it's you in the position. But the one of the best things I did, and I want to encourage you, is that when you are holding back in any way because you feel awkward, bloated, ugly, whatever, insert, insert, your insecurity that nobody is thinking about it as much as you are. And the best thing you can do to get past it, the best thing you can do to stand up against the bully in your head is to show up anyways. And so to our the credit of our our listener who submitted this that you said you were out at an event and you looked really cute, and then you realized, oh my gosh, maybe I didn't your whole night got ruined. The best thing you can do when you find your night being ruined is to go, oh no, like I am not now, in negativity and criticism, be the strongest voice in my life. Tonight, I will have fun. Tonight I'm going to to just choose to believe that I belong here, that I look good, that I am enough, even though you know that. But on the surface level, for whatever reason today, you got a lot of negativity. We need to sweep that negativity out, but we are not going to be prisoners to it and held back by it. So I have some affirmations, but that I want to share with you. But before I even get to that, why do we end up feeling off or ugly like the reality is that there's a lot of societal beauty standards and influencers and and filtered images. And so much of our world is fake. We have fake, myself included. We have, we have fake lashes. We have, we have fake lips, we have fake

Unknown Speaker 14:32

um nails. We have. There's so and I'm not saying these are bad things. I'm I'm tapping into some of them. I'm just got my toes done today. My lashes are fresh.

Unknown Speaker 14:42

But I need you to remind yourself that they are social media filters. There are magazine covers, there are there are curated images that you might be jealous of somebody's lips and think it's natural, but they have spent hundreds, if not 1000s of dollars on filler, and they love it. I'm not, I'm not knocking it at all, but I I am. I.

Unknown Speaker 15:00

Reminding you not to compare, because you don't know what's gone in the prep of somebody, what they're presenting. You don't know, especially with AI, how real that image even is. But we also have these self critical voices that we've trained for so many years of our life, and the harder the truth is, we are hard on ourselves than we are on others, and that your internal narratives that you say to yourself about how you look and who you are will determine how you show up. And so one of the things I want you to start doing is to start believing that you are beautiful, and that you are uniquely beautiful in its own, your own way. It's it's really interesting, if you think about way I describe beauty, and I think about people in my life who are beautiful,

Unknown Speaker 15:47

they're all very different. In fact, I just had a friend who dropped something off of my house, and she's beautiful,

Unknown Speaker 15:54

and I like her style. I like the way she wears her hair the same every single day.

Unknown Speaker 16:00

She's externally beautiful, but her internal beauty amplifies her external beauty. And I have another I think about my other local friends who I see on a daily consistent basis, and they're all beautiful

Unknown Speaker 16:14

now. They're all different. They were all different heights, they all have different hair colors, they all have different styles. They're all different ages, right, anywhere between 35 and and 45

Unknown Speaker 16:26

but I don't say to myself, Oh, you know, so and so the pretty one, they're all pretty. It's comparing flowers to flowers to flowers, and they're all beautiful.

Unknown Speaker 16:38

I don't think that we need to keep playing this lose, lose game of who's beautiful enough. Because if you look at the people in your life that you admire, that you enjoy, chances are you describe them as beautiful. And if you say, well, who's more beautiful this person or this person, you'd say, well, they both are. And in fact, one of the I have two exercises, if this topic is resonating with you, I have two exercises that I want you to do. And the first thing you're going to do is you're going to play a game where every single day you're going to find three people. You see three women in particular, and I want them to I want you to find three things about that person who is that's beautiful, and I hope that these are women and people who look different than you. So someone who, if you're pear shaped, I want you to find an apple shape and just, just admire all the things about that person's body, and then find somebody who's pear shaped and the same thing, like, you know, her hips are really beautiful the way, like, I see how it's balanced, and I see this silhouette that's quite beautiful, even though maybe I'm critical of it myself. Wow, how beautiful. So I want you to find something beautiful, three beautiful things about three different people a day. Do that for a week straight, and you will start thinking differently about what is beautiful.

Unknown Speaker 17:53

I don't think beauty is measured. It's experienced, it's enjoyed.

Unknown Speaker 18:02

So the more you focus on seeing the beauty in others, the more in a positive way, in a variety of varied way, a diversified way, the more you're going to realize, wait a second, maybe I haven't given myself some credit. And that leads me to my second exercise for you. I want you to come up with 10 things about yourself that are beautiful, and I make some of my clients do 25 and it's a very hard, very uncomfortable scenario, because we downplay ourselves. We're like, well, you know, I'm just sitting like, you know, an average girl, like I just, you know, look like all my friends do, or like all my cousins. Stop downplaying yourself.

Unknown Speaker 18:38

It is not vain to acknowledge the beautiful creation that God made you to be, and to to counter the self critical voice with kindness and appreciation.

Unknown Speaker 18:51

I think that you can start with something as simple as the freckles on your knees are beautiful, like if you're like Patricia, I can't start with anything. Maybe your freckles are beautiful. Maybe the length of your legs are beautiful. Maybe you know you've got great hair. Maybe you love your nails, even if you get them done, don't care, whatever you can acknowledge in yourself and say that's beautiful for me, I started with the freckles on my knees because I want to remind you I don't you may or may not know this part of my story, but I grew up believing I was an ugly duckling. Everyone was obsessed with my brother, and he was very, very attractive. Could have modeled. And, you know, one of being kids in my life said, What happened to you? And I had to really do some work here to believe I was beautiful. Now you might

Unknown Speaker 19:36

be like, Trish, I don't believe you. It was really, really, really, a struggle. And so I started with thinking, you know, I do I like my nose.

Unknown Speaker 19:46

I really like my smile. My smile is beautiful. I started with things, and then I finally got to like seeing my body as beautiful. So we start in a small, micro way, and we build, build, build.

Unknown Speaker 19:57

Because once you start changing your internal.

Unknown Speaker 20:00

Narrative about beauty around you, and that's going to boomerang back, and you're going to start having a more generous lens of beauty towards yourself. And I even want to offer you that I know that I used to struggle when I felt bloated. I was like, I'm so ugly now, and feel awkward and uncomfortable. But when I've seen my friends that are bloated and like, you know, if we're at the beach and a friend's like, I'm so bloated, I'm like, I don't even see it, like, or sometimes I do, I'm like, Yeah, but you're still beautiful. Like, I'm able to see it in somebody else, like, and so I'm when you find that in others, you go, Wait, perhaps my self criticism was misplaced, and we're not going to

Unknown Speaker 20:37

be critical of ourselves for being self critical. We're just going to start changing our internal language to have compassion. Of course, we feel awkward because we're being so mean to ourselves. And the other reason we end up feeling and get stuck in these, these, these narrative loopholes that are self critical and will make you feel awkward is because we are comparing ourselves, as Teddy Roosevelt said, Comparison is the thief of joy, and you're, we're looking at the highlight reel of other people on social media and everyone's best moments. Or you see the person walking to an event and their hair just got done.

Unknown Speaker 21:12

You're not seeing them. Maybe you got your hair done two hours later. Or maybe they paid to get their hair done and they had, they got an actual style, and you just blue dried your own hair. Of course there's gonna quote, look better than yours. It's not a competition, because beauty cannot be measured,

Unknown Speaker 21:27

right? So

Unknown Speaker 21:29

one of the things that, as far as if you want to work on comparison your life, I have two action steps for you to take. Number one is to put some really strong boundaries on your social media, media time, or if there's any TV shows where actors or there's some trigger type of characters limit your screen time. It's as simple as that, the solution to you being happier and feeling more confident, really sometimes does boil down to less screen time. And this is why we get to learn to parent our own brains and finding the beauty in yourself. But then also, if you really want to detox, comparison, I have a full detox course. It's linked in the show notes, but you can find it at Trish blackwell.com, forward slash comparison. It's called comparison detox. I will teach you how to detox the internal dialog that you have around comparing yourself to somebody else, comparing your weight, comparing your grades, comparing your salary, comparing your husbands, whatever it is, because it ends up leaving you feeling more insecure than ever, and it will, it will sideline you from having joy in life.

Unknown Speaker 22:37

What I want to, I want to leave you with are some affirmations

Unknown Speaker 22:43

you have power over your focus, because I think sometimes when we feel off or feel awkward, and then we get in our heads, and then we're upset with ourselves, so we're being self absorbed, and we're like, this isn't even about me. Let's start with one thing you can do is excuse yourself and just take a couple deep breaths and reset, and then ask yourself, Who do I want to be today?

Unknown Speaker 23:03

So in the scenario of this event, who do I want to be at this event? I want to be present. I want to be dynamic. I want to be myself. And I think it's really helpful to remind yourself that it's okay to not feel 100% amazing all the time. It's okay to feel a little off. Sometimes it's okay to not feel fully put together. Sometimes I can still show up with joy. I can still show up with confidence, because I got to remember, nobody likes me for how I look. People like me for me.

Unknown Speaker 23:37

And there's internal beauty that this reflection in the mirror or that bad picture that was taken cannot capture. Have you ever had that? There's a friend of mine and I adore her. I honestly she is, I know I said we don't compare beautiful beauty. I honestly though do think she's one of the most beautiful dynamic people I've ever met. But I gotta tell you, she's not very photogenic. Like, if I showed you a picture and I talked her up. I was like, okay, she's so, wait till you meet so and so, she's so pretty, she's so fun, she's so this. She's truly, it's beautiful. And you would see a picture and be like, I mean, she's cute. I'm like, Okay, well, first off, I'm insulted, because secondly, I can look at that and go when she is photogenic. I think my point is, not all beauty can be taken and measured and captured in a micro moment. Beauty is alive. It's actionable, it's vibrant, it's living. There's there's a there's an energy to it. And with this friend that I'm thinking of, she has such internal beauty. First, her physical beauty is extraordinary, but matched with the internal it becomes this, like you get in her presence. You're just inspired by her beauty, in the same way you can see a picture of flowers on the internet and say that's pretty, but when you get a bouquet of flowers,

Unknown Speaker 24:49

they're beautiful.

Unknown Speaker 24:51

It's a big difference. Beauty is to be experienced, not captured in a photo. Now

Unknown Speaker 24:57

that goes against what we say in like what the fashion.

Unknown Speaker 25:00

Industry says, but think about how much production goes into capturing a moment of beauty. It's a lot.

Unknown Speaker 25:09

So a couple affirmations, and then I'm gonna we're gonna close out with our power phrase pyramid, which are affirmations that you can help to speak over yourself and talk to yourself, but man, I got ahead of myself. Pull yourself aside and ask yourself, Who do I want to be today? You can always do on the spot journaling, where it says, take your phone out and write down the negative thought. I feel awkward because I think I think my shirt doesn't fit me the way it should, or I wish my skin was not acting up today when it's really important, I feel like all people are seeing is this, you know, whatever it might be, this, this flaw on my face. And then we we write down the actual thing you're thinking,

Unknown Speaker 25:47

and then ask yourself, What am I making that mean? Because most of us, when we get stuck in that cycle, we're making it mean we're not enough. We're making it mean that we don't belong, that we're not good enough. And you have to ask yourself, what do I want to make it mean? How about just a simple I'm human, and sometimes I look sometimes i My skin looks more clear than other times. But

Unknown Speaker 26:12

then we want to reframe it and say, What's the truth? What do I know is true? Like I want you to if you are a follower of Christ like me, you'll be familiar with Philippians four, eight. Think on what is true. The first thing listed in that verse is, what is true, what is noble, what is, what is, what is excellent, of praise, what is, what is worthy. But what is true? What is true is, we have to ask ourselves, what is true?

Unknown Speaker 26:39

Is it true that I'm ugly? No, no. What is true is I'm a masterpiece.

Unknown Speaker 26:44

I'm a beautiful human being on the inside and out. I also believe what is true is I'm becoming more and more beautiful every day. And you go, can you really say that as a 41 year old lady? Yes, I can. Because do you believe I'm becoming more and more beautiful? I believe I'm going to be more beautiful when I'm 50 and 60 than I am right now. I believe I'm more beautiful at 41 than I was at 21 now am I gonna have some aging? Yeah, but I think aging is beautiful. I also know that my wisdom and my joy and my confidence and my all the internal things that God is doing in me are becoming more and more beautiful and more fruits of the Spirit. My ability to not care what people think is just it gives me freedom and beauty.

Unknown Speaker 27:20

And so I really do believe to be true that I'm becoming more and more beautiful, that beauty is not this fixed thing that's slipping through my fingers.

Unknown Speaker 27:30

So you would ask yourself, what do I know is true? You can maybe even answer that reframe with just I know it's true that no one's judging me as much as I think that they are. I know it's true that it doesn't actually matter how I look tonight. It matters that I'm present and I enjoy the people around me. What I know is true that tomorrow, my eyes towards myself are going to be more kind. And one of the things I did start on when I was working on this work myself, is I started praying that I would have Kinder eyes. You see, I had such self critical, cruel, mean, pick myself apart eyes that I didn't even know where to start, and so my prayer was, Lord help me see myself with kindness. It's a simple prayer. Please don't underestimate the power of that prayer. When my husband, he also said he started praying that he would that I would learn to see myself the way he sees me, which was with kindness and love. And this is why I believe in miracle of prayer. It works, but it didn't just sit back and go, hope God changes my thoughts. I also did the work in the journaling. And I would challenge my thought, and I would take Philippians, four, eight, and go think on what is true. What do I know is true? What

Unknown Speaker 28:40

I would know is absolutely true,

Unknown Speaker 28:44

that God loves me, that I am beautiful.

Unknown Speaker 28:49

So some other affirmations that I want for you are right now. I choose kindness towards myself.

Unknown Speaker 28:58

I embrace the beauty, and I'm going to have these listed in the show notes, by the way. So if you were like driving or on the treadmill and some of this is resonating, don't panic. Don't do anything dangerous, go to the show notes and get these. I embrace the beauty that God designed me to have is wonderful. And I want to note that, like, I'm designed to have a specific kind of beauty, and my friends that I described who looked different than me were designed to look different, and their beauty is different, the same way flowers are designed with different beauty. And all beauty is beautiful.

Unknown Speaker 29:31

Beauty is in the eye the beholder, and there's beauty everywhere, especially here with me. I also really like this one, this one I've used a lot, because sometimes I can reframe and I'm still like, Yeah, but like, I still feel awkward

Unknown Speaker 29:45

or Yeah, but man, my brain is just being mean today. Here's the affirmation for those of you who that resonates with I am not seeing myself correctly in this moment, and I forgive myself for this harshness as I release it. And

Unknown Speaker 29:59

then you.

Unknown Speaker 30:00

Can follow that up with this affirmation, I have power over my focus, and I will focus on what is good, not on what doesn't feel good. So if you don't feel good, if you're feeling awkward, then you can say, You know what I do have in my power. I can't change some of the meanness in my brain, but I can change my focus. I'm not focused on what is good. What is good is i are the privilege to be here. What is good is I have two legs that I'm walking on. What is good is that my heart is beating, and I'm grateful for that.

Unknown Speaker 30:26

I am beautiful, even though I don't feel it right now, my feelings are not always accurate.

Unknown Speaker 30:33

Sometimes there's just indicators that I might be pulled into comparison. And when I see that there's opportunity for me there.

Unknown Speaker 30:41

I want to close out with our power phrase pyramid. The first beginner thought is no one is picking me apart. I release self judgment and I choose kindness. It's so

Unknown Speaker 30:54

freeing to remind yourself no one's picking you apart as much as you are. I release my self judgment and I choose kindness. The medium power. Phrase is this, I look better than I think I do. This one frees me all the time. If I ever get in my head and old thought patterns, Trish, 1.0 coming in. I'm like, You know what? Trish, you look better than you think you do.

Unknown Speaker 31:16

Let's just release the self criticism. It doesn't belong with you today. I don't want to and, you know, I think about the type of person I want to be in this world. I want to be a person who's available. I want to be a person who's generous. I want to be a person who's kind. I want to be a person overflowing with love and compliments and encouragement. And so when the self critical voice sneaks itself back in. I just remind myself, you know, this is not the type of person I am anymore.

Unknown Speaker 31:47

Instead, today I choose love. Instead. Today I choose to see the good. I choose kindness. I choose to build myself up rather than tear myself down, because tearing myself down does not serve me. And then the top thought is this, I am kind to myself, and kind language is my internal standard. So now, when we elevate our standards, we're like, I my expectation, my standard for myself is kindness. And when anything that's not to standard comes in, which is going to by the way, we don't judge the fact that it does, you just go, oh, gonna send you off. Just didn't meet the standards. I don't need to think that. Thought that's not the language we speak here any more. All right, before we close out, I'm gonna give you three episodes that are gonna really help you take today's concepts and just support them even more. But before that, I wanna read our review of the week. Thank you to each and every one of you take the time to write a review, whether on Spotify or Apple podcast, it means the world to me. Unknown Speaker 33:22

the most encouraging feedback, and that's what I hope that this, this episode, this show, is for you, a warm hug, a friend, a friend who says, I see you. You're not alone. I see you. Nothing's wrong with your brain. I see you. You have all the confidence you need. We just got to tap into it. We got to bring it up. We gotta choose it so love that I'm gonna continue reading the review here. It's as if you're speaking directly to my heart, saying the exact words I didn't realize I needed to hear I can't thank you enough for the comfort, encouragement and hope you've given me. You've renewed my sense of motivation and reminded me that I'm capable of climbing out of this place of insecurity. Your voice, your wisdom and your kindness are truly a gift, and I'm so grateful for you and Joan Julie, thank you. I'm so proud of you. That is my greatest privilege to help remind you of how much you have in you and that you can climb out of anything, and then insecurity no longer has to hold you back in any capacity in your life whatsoever, because when we quiet the insecurity, then we get to start tapping into being courageous with our lives and start making being the difference maker and world changers that we can be, and to be stepping into our fullest calling. So I'm proud of you. Keep it going. I can't wait to see what is ahead for you. Episode number 606. Is a great episode to check out. It's called insecurity around other women, because that's often where the comparison comes in. Episode 598 you are somebody is a really great episode as well. And then the other episode I wanted to give you, Oh, where did it go? And the other.

Unknown Speaker 35:00
