THINK BIGGER / BELIEVE BIGGER

I dare you to think bigger, to act bigger, and to be bigger, and I promise you a richer and more exciting life if you do. – William Danforth

The desire for growth is simply a desire to make the most out of the life you have been given.

Growth is the love of an engaged existence and a deep desire to fully explore life.

  1. Always make your future bigger than your past.
  2. Always have courage to think big.
  3. Always make your learning greater than your experience.
  4. Always make your contribution to the world greater than your reward.

The Believe in Your Goal Process

  1. Take the parameters off what’s “realistic” (BHAG, Impossible Goal, etc.)
  2. Understand the “point” of a big goal.
  3. Give yourself permission to think it.
  4. Decide that it’s available to you. (People like you do things like that)
  5. Bring it to life (Get it out of your head – on paper and with someone you trust)
  6. Decide to do it – and that you are already on your way. (Release the “how”).
  7. Write the belief you want to hold onto the entire way to the goal.
  8. Create a belief thought ladder of progressive affirmations.
  9. Commit to a daily affirmation to redirect your belief.
  10. The proclamation declaration of your goal has taken the idea from a possibility to a piece of potential

What separates the most successful people from the rest begins with a THOUGHT.

A thought, if cultivated, grows into the empowering habit of thinking big.

Thinking big propels our behavior forward in powerful ways.

To think big, you must think from a perspective where limitations and fears are completely suspended and separated.

Why Aren’t You Thinking Bigger?

Common Practical Limitations

  • Your life feels too cluttered (too busy, no time to spend)
  • You don’t have a clean physical space that inspires you (most of the time, in our dwellings where we have the most security to think, we feel overwhelmed and cluttered – just reminded of how much we have to do, and why thinking becomes one of the last priorities)
  • You have misinterpreted what failure means and over-personalized it to always be that way
  • You aren’t tapping into your imagination
  • You’re trying to do too much – practical bandwidth issues

Limiting Habits:

  • Procrastination
  • Short-term thinking
  • Negative thinking (polarization, filtering, catastrophizing, personalizing)
  • Making excuses
  • Focusing on insignificant problems to distract
  • Over-analyzing
  • Seeking perfection
  • Peer judgment
  • Criticism
  • Having no timeline or incentives
  • Business

Too often we don’t think big because we are worried about being criticized by others:

People will always judge, criticize, condemn and complain. It’s just a natural part of human nature. However, this is not a barrier to thinking big unless you make it so.

Achievable goals are great, but they keep you small and slightly above average.

The subconscious mind doesn’t distinguish between good or bad, right or wrong, it goes by what you tell it.

‘If I was thinking bigger here, what would it look like?

Get Skilled at Playing with Perspective

Invite your brain to take on the persona of other people in order to separate any overattachment you to have to your own past default thinking. Stepping into other peoples mental shoes will immediately grant you a new perspective on life.

Play with thinking like a child.

Ask yourself how a billionaire would think.

Ask yourself how a professional athlete would think.

Ask your future self how they succeeded

Ask yourself how a prize-winning scientist would think

CULTIVATE BIG THOUGHTS:

  1. Master your fluency of empowering language
  2. Intentionally expand your comfort zone
  3. Focus on forward thinking
  4. Cultivate passion, courage, curiosity, optimism, persistence, discipline, enthusiasm
  5. Decide to have unshakeable belief
  6. Ask big questions like a child would (How can I do this better than anyone else? How can I think more creatively about this? How can I take this to another level? How can I think even bigger? How am I just like the best in the world at this?)
  7. Make bold decisions
  8. Identify with boldness.

Challenge Affirmation:

I will never be defeated or embarrassed that I dared to dream so big.

Transformation starts with you.

You’ve got to get uncomfortable if you want to grow.

One of the coolest ways my life is changing is from the inside.

I no longer look for others to gain acceptance, and now I know I am worthy and loved.

Personal growth is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself and those around you.

One of my favorite podcasts is The Confidence Podcast by Trish Blackwell. It helped me realize that the only true accepts is His and my own.  I know I share a lot about Trish’s podcasts, and what I love best is she is raw and points us to Him every step!
