Podcast #435

How To Change that Habit that’s Keeping You Stuck

Do you want to change a habit that is keeping you stuck? This podcast episode is for you. In it, you’ll learn why you have had a hard time breaking the habit and how to approach habit change with more confidence, and success. It all starts with getting honest about the habits you need to change, then setting new standards of realistic expectations for yourself, and then mastering the self-talk that will subconsciously get you to show up more consistently for yourself. These changes will make you proud of yourself, and will help you change the quality of your habits and life.

In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we’re talking about:

  1. How to set new standards for yourself in a way that really works
  2. The key to creating a new self-concept so that you rise up and change your habits naturally
  3. Breaking down the process of habit substitution so that you can really change a habit that’s keep you stuck

How to Change a Habit

WHEW. Let’s start with some honesty.

Here are some habits that I spent far too many years stuck in.

Compulsive, obsessive calorie counting.

Excessive exercise.

Binge eating. Overeating. Emotional Eating.

Overpouring wine at night.

Slopping nighttime routine.

Mismanaged morning routine.

Stress and busyness.

Self-pity and scarcity mindset – life is hard concept.

Settling for relationships and friendships that tore me down instead of building me up.

Wanting to read my Bible more and do more meditation, but never doing it.

So much about our habits is a reflection of what’s going on in the inside:

-Who do we think we are?

-What do we think of ourselves and our worth?

-What do we do to manage and work through our feelings?

-What are the things we tell ourselves?

-What is it that we actually believe?

Have you considered or ever written down your standards?

What standards do you hold yourself to?

I hadn’t done this as an adult – only did it in college on sports teams or classes.

This is different than “Oh, I’m hard on myself because I have high standards for myself”

-that’s lazy unrealistic perfectionistic fantasy and day dreaming

You have to see yourself as a new you.

You are not your habit.

You are not suck.

You are capable of change.

Create a line in the sand between the old you, and the new you.

To release your old self-concept, and old habits that went with it, you have to forgive yourself for it.

-Take ownership and be honest. Call it what it was. (binge drinking, binge eating, compulsive shopping, escapism, etc.)

-Describe the darkness and the state that you created for yourself

-Give thanks for the firsthand experience – experience is the best lesson

-Look at the time wasted as fuel in your fire to maximize all future life opportunities; now more than ever you have a more authentic desire to put life into your years

-Nothing is wasted when you are growth mindset oriented

Visualize the self-concept of you that easily executes things at a newer, higher, more confident and masterful level.

-Find examples to emulate

-Refuse to sink in self-pity (or “this is hard” talk)

-Break the ceiling of previous possibilities

  1. Habit replacement. Not elimination.
  2. Micro-Habits.
  3. Cheer yourself on.
  4. Study evidence of people with sustained habits.
  5. Change your brain, one thought at a time.

You can learn how to make your brain work for you, not against you. And that’s exactly what I’ll be teaching in my upcoming mastermind, Done with Numb.

Applications are open.

Who is Done with Numb for?

You do more than most people but you never feel like you’re doing enough.

You always feel like you should be doing more, but there’s not enough time.

You are told by others that you’re great, but you still see where you need to improve.

You know you have something great to give the world, but you just don’t know where to start.

Break the chains of decade-long patterns and redesign your life’s potential.

The Done with Numb Coaching Progression Includes:

  1. All-or-Nothing Cleanse and Perfectionism Detox
  2. Simplifying Stress, Reducing Busyness, Creating More Time
  3. Striving and Proving Yourself
  4. Anxiety Management (future anxiety, achievement anxiety)
  5. Broken Belief Systems and the Superhero Complex
  6. Mastering Your Mindset

We’ll go deep into understanding your triggers, your habits, and your thought patterns, deconstructing them completely.

Then, on fresh foundation, we will reconstruct your cognitive baseline and belief systems.

This will give you the power to rewire how you see yourself, how you engage in life, and how you thrive on a day-to-day basis.

Does this really work? What if change isn’t possible for me?

Yes. When you change your thoughts, you change your life. You’re probably exceptional at how you think in almost all areas of your life, except for a few, which are the ones we’ll tackle together.

You’ll learn how to change your thoughts about yourself, about your behaviors and about what life can look like for you.

Will this really help me stop my self-sabotaging behaviors?

Yes. This mastermind is uniquely focused on making sure you find complete freedom from whatever self-sabotaging habits are keeping you stuck.

Whatever your go-to numbing habits are (binge or overeating, overdrinking, over-shopping, over-scrolling/comparing, etc.), this mastermind is committed to freedom.

How do I know this is different than anything else I’ve tried?

This coaching experience isn’t about will-power or self-discipline, but approaches your self-sabotage entirely differently than ever before. You will learn to think differently. Just as our episode covered changing your habits, you will learn to think differently.

Increase your self-concept, self-respect and self-trust, and therefore follow-through differently than ever before for yourself.

What qualifies Trish to effectively teach this?

Trish was stuck and isolated in self-sabotage for over 20 years. As a high-achieving Christian woman, it was easy to hide, making the shame and shackles of the self-sabotage even heavier.

Over the past 8 years, Trish has deeply explored the multiple cognitive and spiritual shifts needed to be done with numb. She has a proven method that works and she is passionate about setting women free

from their perceived inadequacies. It is her mission to bring her sisters in Christ alive in joy, freedom, abundance and worth again, forgetting what is behind and capable of standing firm in their faith.

How many people will be in the mastermind?

Your group will be hand selected and capped at 10 women.

This is a safe place where high-achievers can feel understood and supported.

Is there a money-back guarantee?

No. Investing in the future you want always involves risk. You have Trish’s commitment to make the 24 weeks of coaching you receive absolutely extraordinary, hyper-focused and deeply effective.

The cost of doing this 1:1 with Trish would be $12,000, which is why the mastermind rate is a no-brainer investment.

Can I make payments instead of one payment?

Yes, of course. The cost of the program is either 1 payment of $7,500 or 6 monthly payments of $1,500.
