The Clincher, 5 Stars by MadMakeup24
I’m not alone when I say I’ve struggled with anxious thoughts. It is an ironic turn of events for me when I think about where I am versus 3 years ago. Coming to terms with the fact that I am human and deserving of higher thinking was an uphill battle. When I first hear do Trish it was a moment in my life where I can say I drew a line in the sand. Perfectly imperfect.
Turning 30 rocked my world. Self imposed life threatening thoughts will tear up your soul and force you to live in insecurity. Because I wrapped my brain around others, I didn’t have time to think about my God given powers. Because I’ve stepped into His light, I know that my temporary feelings are not who I am, but they are shaping me into the woman I want to be. To have the mental fortitude and tenacious attitude that Trish does makes her one in a million.
Because I took those steps into confidence with her I feel I don’t owe anything to anyone but myself. I owe it to myself to be grateful! In those three years: I found the man of my dreams and he proposed marriage. We are buying a home together. I had the guts to stand up to my bullies at the office and now we’re working together. I figured out my finances (which was a source of anxiety) and bought myself my dream car. I’ve become this unstoppable force of a woman who dreams big now. The clincher is that she was inside me all along. Trish gave me the shovel to dig her out.

“Good is the enemy of great. And that is one of the key reasons why we have so little that becomes great. We don’t have great schools, principally because we have good schools. We don’t have great government, principally because we have good government. Few people attain great lives, in large part because it is just so easy to settle for a good life.”
“Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline.”
“For, in the end, it is impossible to have a great life unless it is a meaningful life. And it is very difficult to have a meaningful life without meaningful work.”
“Faith in the endgame helps you live through the months or years of buildup.”
“What separates people, Stockdale taught me, is not the presence or absence of difficulty, but how they deal with the inevitable difficulties of life.”
“Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice.”
Having a great life demands emotional engagement.
Be willing to feel all your feelings.
Most people are stuck in “good” because they haven’t had the emotional courage to invest their heart and their hopes in life.
Also- we’re so pre-occupied with what other people think of us and of following other people’s lives that we forget to live our own. We’re self-focused and self-obsessed on superficial levels, but we are cheapening ourselves and selling our real selves short when we aren’t even living our own lives fully.
Finally, if you haven’t done the emotional work it takes to feel, and to dance with disappointment, then you’ll never be emotionally ready to take a risk and dare to dream bigger or dare to believe bigger.
More digitally connected than ever, and more detached – not just from others but from ourselves too.
We often sabotage our great by settling for sloppy habits at night (mostly because we’re too tired from the day of going at over-drive pace) —- and so we numb, we settle, and we disengage our feelings.
How to improve your nighttime routine:
What do you need to start unbelieving?
What does success mean to you?
What does greatness, and meaning look like in your life?

Hello Trish, I’ve been listening to your podcast for some time now and I have to say that I love it!!! One episode really spoke to me. It’s episode #425, Why You Never Follow Through and How to Fix It. I am kinda lost right now in my life. I am 24 years old working a dead-end job with no opportunity to move up. I want to open a coffee shop, but I have no experience making coffee. I also think about all the other coffee shops that are already open and I get discouraged. This episode helped shift my mindset in a more positive way. Thank you.
Don’t forget:
-You create your own opportunities
-Advocate for yourself
-Become a master of your own craft
-There is always a need for a unique approach
-You are more ready than you think you are!
