What Will “They” Say?

What will “they” say is often part of the internal self-talk that can keep you sidelined from your dreams. This podcast episode explores who “they” are and how to get their voices to quiet down and even go to “mute” so that you can get on with your life and go do big things. It’s time to stop caring so much about what “they” think and this podcast pep-talk will super-fuel you to take massive action and to go be audaciously bold. In this episode of The Confidence Podcast we’re talking about:

  • What “they” voices are holding you back in life?
  • What is it that you are so afraid they will say?
  • What happens if you quit or if you stick to something with fierce determination? How to know which to do and how to make sure you quit the right things in 2021 and stick to the things you really want.

I have always struggled with my body image. Now I have a beautiful daughter I am so scared that if she grows up having a mom with poor confidence, that she may never see her own beauty. I went on a search for a positive message and found this podcast. I started from the oldest episode I could scroll back to and it took me exactly where I needed to be! I am a first time mom to a beautiful one year old baby girl, which is exactly where Trish was in 2016.  I was thrilled to find out that Trish was also a faith based woman and love that she shares her walk with Christ. Since I have started listening on my way to work everyday I have also purchased her book Insecurity Detox. I love starting and ending my day with Trish’s positivity and truth. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, you are truly an inspiration. -Kim Todd

What “They” Say About Me?

First off, who is “they”?

  1. An elusive group of people that you can’t name
  2. A large category of people that intimate you
  3. A small group of specific friends / bullies from 10 years ago
  4. A collection of your own thoughts of self-doubt, small-thinking and shame

Are they really even talking about you?

Are you going to give them the right to reign in your life?

And, if they even do say something – so what.

Do you want to live cautiously or courageously?

Do you want to make an impact or protect yourself?

Do you want to come alive or do you want to live half-heartedly?

Prenez vie, prenez vie.

Feeling and Failing – The Two Things To Go After

If you’re good at feeling, you’ll stop self-sabotaging.

If you’re good at failing, you’ll stop procrastinating.

Feeling will give you resilience and self-awareness. Your increased awareness will give you higher quality thoughts and a better self-concept, enabling you to see yourself capable of things far beyond your previous emotional intelligence.

Failing will give you courage, perseverance and a stick-to-it-ness / scrappiness that results in the confidence that there is truly nothing that can stand between you and the results you want in life.

When Quitting Is Good

-Stopping something is powerful, not always weak

-Have the courage to do what is right for you – to pivot

-Break up with past behaviors

How To Stick To What You Want

  1. Increase self-trust
  2. Have a higher standard of integrity (keeping your word to yourself)
  3. Start telling a different narrative about what “they” say
  4. Put more value on what “you” say and what you want
  5. Stop worrying about how you look doing it and just do it
