SPONSORSHIP NOTE:

I am proud to be an educator and consultant for Beautycounter, a B-Corp company on a mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone.   The lack of regulation in the personal care and cosmetic industry is astounding and it is harming our health in very serious ways. We need more voices to join up on our mission. If you want to put your passion to purpose while being generously compensated, then I would love to start a conversation with you about what it means to be involved in the #saferbeauty tribe that is Beautycounter. Join the movement of #betterbeauty and message me via email to make your voice really resonate for a cause.   Shop for your own Beautycounter collection at www.beautycounter.com/trishblackwell

QUOTES ON SAVORING LIFE

We see God face to face every hour, and know the savor of Nature. –Ralph Waldo Emerson

I savor life. When you have anything that threatens life … it prods you into stepping back and really appreciating the value of life and taking from it what you can. –Sonia Sotomayor

“You have stories worth telling, memories worth remembering, dreams worth working toward, a body worth feeding, a soul worth tending, and beyond that, the God of the universe dwells within you, the true culmination of super and natural.” Shauna Niequist

It’s rebellious, in a way, to choose joy, to dance, to love your life. It’s much easier and much more common to be miserable. We could just live our normal, day-to-day lives, saving all the good living up for someday, but I think it’s our job to live each day like it’s a special occasion, because we’ve been given a gift.” Shauna Niequist

SAVORING LIFE AND THE SEASON IN THE REAL SENSE OF IT

It’s one thing to talk about savoring life and savoring the season you are living in, but it’s a whole other thing to live it out and do so fully. Savoring life is as Shauna Niequest said, REBELLIOUS.   It is uncommon. It is necessary. Doing so will make you stand out – it will make you a leader among your peers and will inspire others you might not have even imagined would notice.

To savor life take note of it – document little ways you slowed down and connected with life that you might not have otherwise done. It’s imperative that you celebrate and acknowledge your growth and increase awareness and engagement.

7 WAYS TO SAVOR YOUR SEASON RIGHT NOW

  1. Recognize that there is an end to each season (don’t get overwhelmed or locked into the belief of permanency – believe in change).
  2. Look for the lessons and beauty that surround you.
  3. Acknowledge what frustrates you about the season and find a way to express gratitude towards it.
  4. Capture memories that strike you (note the lessons, beauty, take-aways, etc.) and make a commitment that each season of your life is a season of growth.
  5. Decide to bloom where you are planted (don’t wish your season away and don’t just survive it, thrive in it).
  6. Find others in your same season (remember you are not alone)
  7. Gratitude journal daily

I am confident and able to do anything.

I am beautiful, created by God and perfect in his eyes.

I am capable of doing hard things.
I am gifted with a mind that is flexible and malleable in thinking.

I am a work in progress and I celebrate my growth rather that obsess over perfection.
I am one of one.

I am filled with forgiveness towards those who have hurt me or limited me.

I am grateful for every breath of life I am given and I am committed to celebrating life.

I am not discouraged by rejection or set-backs and I embrace them as opportunities for growth.

I am stress-free and open to the possibilities of life.

I am smarter than I give myself credit and learning more every day.

I am not defined by my past, but rather refined by it.

I am patient and at peace in the season I am in.

I am relentlessly positive and optimistic about what the future holds.

I am a light of love and am committed to sharing that love with everyone I can.

I am a voice of encouragement to those around me – my voice matters.

You’ve got this – never forget that!
