SPONSORSHIP NOTE:

I am proud to be an educator and consultant for Beautycounter, a B-Corp company on a mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone.   The lack of regulation in the personal care and cosmetic industry is astounding and it is harming our health in very serious ways. We need more voices to join up on our mission. If you want to put your passion to purpose while being generously compensated, then I would love to start a conversation with you about what it means to be involved in the #saferbeauty tribe that is Beautycounter. HOW TO FOCUS IN THE FACE OF DISTRACTION

To overcome distraction (which we will dive into right after this) you must identify what distraction is in your life and how it side rails you. As with anything, it’s impossible to address something that you don’t have a strong grasp on or mastery of in your own awareness.

My personal distractions I identified:

Comparison

Self-doubt

Embarrassment

Lack of urgency / procrastination

Absence of belief

Over fatigue and inability to focus

OVERCOMING DISTRACTION / HOW TO MINIMIZE IT IN YOUR LIFE

  1. Know what matters to you
  2. Know the obstacles that lie ahead
  3. Know how to plan ahead
  4. Know your limits
  5. Know how to ask for help

DISTRACTION IS SOMETHING YOU CAN CONTROL

Refuse to buy into being busy.

Reduce the distractions you allow into your life

Stop trying to multi-task.

Focus on doing what you can do, well, and ask for help for the rest

5 FOCUS STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU THRIVE

  1. Schedule your priorities every week and review them every evening.
  2. Put your vision or purpose statement somewhere you will see daily.
  3. Create more open space and time for yourself every day.
  4. Intentionally have more fun and non-productive time.
  5. Always set deadlines for yourself and follow through on them.
