Coaching your confidence and courage to that you finish what you start and contribute to the world in a way that matters.
In this episode of Confidence on the Go we’re chatting about:
As always, a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners, thanks for being a part of this extended community of contagious encouragement.
I am proud to be an educator and consultant for Beautycounter, a B-Corp company on a mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. The lack of regulation in the personal care and cosmetic industry is astounding and it is harming our health in very serious ways. We need more voices to join up on our mission. If you want to put your passion to purpose while being generously compensated, then I would love to start a conversation with you about what it means to be involved in the #saferbeauty tribe that is Beautycounter. Join the movement of #betterbeauty and message me via email to make your voice really resonate for a cause. Shop for your own Beautycounter collection at www.beautycounter.com/trishblackwell
Here’s a blog post I wrote a few years ago on this topic :
What would happen to your life if you changed every “have to” to “get to“? What would happen to you —- physically, emotionally, and professionally?
I woke up with this question on my mind as I pulled myself out of bed at 6:00am for my obligatory morning run. I have to get up, I thought to myself, I have to run. I then pressed my snooze button for an hour, because nobody wants to do what they have to do.
After I started jogging at 7am, I smiled. I love running. I especially love running in the crisp morning air. Running is a blessing, it is a gift, it is an honor. I get to run. I get to run in a safe, beautiful neighborhood where everyone waves good morning to me.
Everyday, I get to exercise. I get to go to work. I get to learn through bad days, and I get to rejoice in good days. Because I am blessed, I get the opportunity to go to the doctor when needed, grocery store whenever I want, and I get to pay my bills on time.
Change every have to into a get to and your life will turn around in ways you never dreamed possible, for we are exceedingly blessed beyond our knowledge.
-Get to have my baby early – Dr. Walls positioning of the situation … “worse case scenario, we’re having a birthday party today!” God gifted me with Dr. Walls’ attitude.
-Get to skip a few weeks of pregnancy, get to hold my baby in my arms
-Get to have life-saving medicine to keep me from seizures > didn’t get to hold my son immediately but because of the other thing I got to get, I was able to eventually get that too
-Get to experience the outpouring support and expertise of the NICU world
-Get to learn a new type of parenting
-Get to learn how to adapt to an unexpected situation
-Get to practice fighting fear, worry, anxiety about having a four pound baby
-Get to have trust in God in a new level

Trish, just wanted to say thank you for your podcast on the Imposter Syndrome. I listened to it on the way to a doctor’s appointment in the car this morning, and it was just what I needed! The past few weeks I have been traveling and getting ready to send the kids back to school, and I hadn’t been taking the time to really focus on my new business. It’s funny how when you are distracted with other things (even good things) negative self-talk can creep in. I started listening to those little voices that say, “you aren’t good enough”, “you don’t have what it takes”, “you need to find a ‘real’ job with a 401(k) and a stable income”, “you don’t know what you are doing”, and on and on…Then I listened to the podcast and it snapped me out of it! So thank you! I so appreciate you!
And, many congrats on welcoming little Baker into the world! He’s got an awesome mother!
Best,
Malinda Moseley
