Just a quick hello to all of my Keep the Faith listeners out there – thanks for being part of the community of contagious encouragement.
I am proud to be an educator and consultant for Beautycounter, a B-Corp company on a mission to get safer products into the hands of everyone. The lack of regulation in the personal care and cosmetic industry is astounding and it is harming our health in very serious ways. We need more voices to join up on our mission. If you want to put your passion to purpose while being generously compensated, then I would love to start a conversation with you about what it means to be involved in the #saferbeauty tribe that is Beautycounter. Join the movement of #betterbeauty and message me via email to make your voice really resonate for a cause.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”
HABITS SHAPE US: START ESTABLISHING THEM:
We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit. –Aristotle
Habits have shaped everything about who I am and about what I do.
>Through my habits I see growth
>Through my habits I feel in control
>Through my habits I automate most of my life to free up brain space for more important things
>Through my habits I make hard decisions easy, and discipline simply nature
>Through my habits I have more free time than most “busy” people
>Through my habits I am happy and whole
Start establishing your new habits now:
>Get a habit partner or accountability coach
>Decide to implement no more than three new habits at one time
>Focus on maintaining your habit for just 30 days
>Know why you are doing a specific habit
>Never underestimate the power of small changes

HOW TO MAKE HAPPINESS A HABIT:
“Enthusiasm is the electricity of life. How do you get it? You act enthusiastic until you make it a habit.” ― Gordon Parks (Was a groundbreaking American photographer, musician, poet, novelist, journalist, activist and film director. He is best remembered for his photo essays for Life magazine and as the director of the 1971 film Shaft.)
Act happy and confident until it becomes a habit. Honestly! It works!
LISTENER OF THE EPISODE:
I recently discovered your podcasts and have been making a habit of listening to one each morning while I workout or have my morning cup of coffee. It has become something I look forward to every day. It starts my day on a positive note and allows some time for me to check in with myself before the day really gets started. Your most recent podcast, “You have time,” really resonated with me and it was as if you knew exactly what I was struggling with and thought, “I think my friend Kate could use this message right now. ” 🙂
I cannot tell you how many times I find myself saying “I am so busy.” Just last night I broke down to my fiancee saying how I was exhausted and felt like I would never not be busy. I feel worn down emotionally and physically trying to keep up with everything that is going on in my life and it seems like a continuous cycle. It wasn’t until I was listening to your podcast and you outlined signs you have poor time management that I realized I fit many of those descriptions. Thank you for helping me make the realization that value does not always come from productivity.
Starting today I am eliminating “I am so busy” from my vocabulary and I plan on taking a closer look at how I am spending my day to find those time pockets to do things that make me happy and add value to my life and the lives of the people I love. Things like taking a walk with my fiancee, calling my Grandma to catch up or sending my best friend who lives 2 states away a new book to read will energize me more than anything else on my to-do list.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and positive outlook with others.
