LET’S DIVE INTO THE CONFIDENT CONTENT:

Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything. –George Bernard Shaw

When we are no longer able to change a situation – we are challenged to change ourselves. – Viktor E. Frankl

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of. –Jim Rohn

Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have. –Margaret Mead

HOW TO CHANGE OTHERS:

Ok, so the thing is that you can’t. Tricky podcast episode title, I know. We have one thing that we can always change however, and that is our perspective.

Your perspective is your prison or your passport.

–Steven Furtik

THE FASTEST WAYS TO CHANGE YOUR PERSPECTIVE:

  1. Be consistent to your gratitude journal.
  2. Fight the urge to be a martyr.
  3. Stop comparing yourself to others.
  4. Look to celebrate the small details of life.
  5. Slow down and focus on being, rather than doing.
  6. Always find something nice to say.
  7. Garden your thoughts with more consciousness
  8. Get involved in volunteering or helping others.
  9. Be intentionally generous – with your time, your money and your emotions
  10. Consider yourself a reflector of God’s love
  11. Remember that the world doesn’t have to be fair –and people don’t have to be nice – but you do.
  12. Appreciate the mundanity of your daily life – share your appreciation out loud, journal about it or speak about it.
  13. Resist the false idea / temptation that you can change others; instead, love that person for who they are and for where they are at and acknowledge that they are responsible for their own perspective and approach to life…no matter what you do, you can’t change them, only God can change people.

LISTENER OF THE EPISODE:

Hi Trish!!!!

I did it!! I did it!!! I completed my first half marathon this morning!!!

I’ve been training for months – using your half marathon app. I can’t believe I did it!

Throughout the 13 miles whenever I saw another hill and began to doubt my legs could keep going. I began going through a list of positive affirmations – many of which were in your emerge program. I would remind myself of not how much farther I have but how far I’ve come. When I began to slow my pace and someone ran past me I reminded myself this was a race against myself. This was a challenge against myself.

My husband and I also committed to fundraise for the Boston Children’s Hospital – we raised almost $2000!!

At the beginning of 2015 I made a list of the things I wanted to accomplish this year… One being complete a half marathon. I’m soaring right now. And I want to send you my love and appreciation for everything you do, your message, your work and your encouragement.

I literally can’t believe I finished!!

I set a big goal and trained and finished.

Much love

Jade Giacoppo
